Chevaliers sylvain et guignette et Gravelot à triple collier

Andarríos bastardo
Tringa glareola

The Wood sandpiper is usually found around freshwater ponds and wet lands during migration and wintering; it can potentially cross distances of 2 to 4 thousands km in one non-stop flight.

Actitis hypoleucos

The Three-banded plover is resident in much of eastern and southern Africa and Madagascar, mainly on inland rivers, pools, and lakes.

  4. You show cute and unparalleled birds. The last one with a red border around the eyes is charming. Greetings.

  5. It amazes me the distances that birds fly in migration, and there and back!!!! I saw the three-banded lapwing/plover while we were in RSA last Feb and managed a few photos myself :-) Not quite up to your standard but I am relatively happy with them. Travel safely and keep dry!!! Warm, dry hugs Diane

    Gros bisous 🎀

  9. Great images as always, Noushka, but the real treat for me was the Three-banded Plover - a species that I was not aware of and a spectacular variation on the two related species that we get in UK.

I hope that you are having a great time while you are away. Take good care - - - Richard
