I went to this bird sanctuary twice last month, so here are the last pics with the apparition of a Roe deer. But you will some familiar species, especially the Great egret since they were many then in my area. If some will remain through the winter, other individuals will fly to milder climates.

Chevreuil - Roe deer
Capriolus capriolus

Aigrette garzette - Little egret
Egretta garzetta

Grande aigrette - Great egret
Ardea alba

Bécassine des marais - Common snipe
Gallinago gallinago

Cisticole des joncs - Zitting cisticola
Cisticola juncidis

Bubulcus ibis

A lonely and miserable Cattle egret was keeping close to 3 cows:

Martin pêcheur - Kingfisher
Alcedo atthis

Pouillot véloce - Common chiffchaff
Phylloscopus collybita

  2. Hello Noushka,
wonderful post. I love the pictures of the landing great egret - the way the light shines through the feathers; beautiful.

    Best regards, Corrie

  3. A wonderful selection of images, Carine. I particularly love the light in the last sequence of images of the Great Egret. That Cattle Egret really does look miserable - but that seems to be a regular expression for them! The Kingfisher and the Water Rail are just gorgeous.

Take good care. With my very best wishes from England where it has been cold and damp, but looks as if it might improve a bit? - - - Richard

  4. Hi Noushka,
Wonderful and varied set of images, I'm always fond of getting images of the GWE, they always make a super flight shot.
The Kingfisher, Snipe and Water Rail are always good to see but we have been thin on the ground with Kingfisher this year, may be down to the bad Winter.
    All the best, JOhn

  5. Hello miss.

  10. Wonderful set of photos, we were going to go to the bird sanctury together but.... Next year. I love the shot with the cows nose looking in on it. The Rail is a lovely looking bird, one I have yet to see. Have a good weekend, keep warm and dry. It just keeps raining here. Warm hugs, Diane
