Aeshna cyanea
Retour aux odonates, en particulier à l'Aeschne bleue.Pendant mes affûts au Martin pêcheur, il m'est arrivé de voir un certain nombre d'individus mâles patrouillant les berges de l'étang pour trouver une femelle en train de pondre et la "kidnapper" pour s'accoupler avec. A part chez les Caloptéryx, le kidnapping et le "viol" sont monnaie courante!!
While I wait for the kingfishers, I sometimes see Blue hawker males patrolling along the banks of the lake to find a female laying her eggs in order to kidnap her and mate with her.
La chance a voulu que non seulement le martin soit absent depuis un moment mais qu'un cœur copulatoire se pose à quelques mètres, caché dans les joncs. Je décroche mon matos de mon trépied et je le retrouve bien posé et relativement dégagé; petite approche en douceur et le voilà sur ma carte!

It's great to see you back with the dragons, Carine, and you have really returned in style! Your flight images are fabulous and I love the backgrounds in them, and you you were very lucky to find and capture them mating. A. cyanea is known as Southern Hawker here, and I don't seem to have seen so many of them this year as I have in past years.

RépondreSupprimerIt is pretty difficult to capture them during their flight. I recently happend to see them mating as well. A beautiful dragonfly caught in great pictures.
