Pic de Bennett

Campethera bennettii
Botswana, Okavango

On le trouve dans les savanes boisées de la partie centrale de l'Afrique australe. Il est insectivore comme tous les pics et se régale surtout de termites.

Bennett's woodpecker is found singly, in pairs or in family groups. It mostly forages on the ground, either bare or with short grass, and also feeds in trees. It mostly eats ants and termites, including their eggs. Breeding occurs from August to February. The woodpecker excavates or reuses holes in trees. Three eggs are laid and then incubated for 15 to 18 days.

    1. Many thanks Mariette!
I must say that when I spend time on the net, it is much pore on FB than on blogs.
I have changed my name, that is why the link was not working anymore.
I hope you are both well, hugs from France!
