Identifier les différentes fauvettes n'est déjà pas très simple mais quand en plus on a affaire aux juvéniles, ça se corse....!!!

Not easy to identify some of the warbler species but when you're dealing with juveniles it get tougher!

Encore une fois, l'oiseau est resté à 25/30 mètres de distance et les photos sont très sévèrement recadrées.
Fréquente les endroits secs et ouverts avec des arbustes.

Laissez-moi vous ramner au mois d'août... avec ces petits oiseaux sympathiques qui se gorgeaient de graines de sureau. Photos faites lors de différents affûts:

Ces photos datent de  et été comme on peut le voir par la végétation. Cette espèce a été si prolifique cette année que je voyais des individus où que je me trouve dans la nature, surtout dans les sureaux.

These pics date back to this summer as one can see by the green vegetation. This species has been so successful this year that wherever I was taking pics in nature, there were individual around me! At the end of summer they will be easily found in and around  elderberry bushes.

Un grand nombre de ces passereaux assez ternes vivent dans le jardin; ils visitent tous les buissons, des Forsythias aux figuiers en passant par les Mahonias.

 Many of these birds live in my garden and they inspect all the bushes from Forsythias and fig trees to the Mahonias.

Les femelles chantent aussi mais bien plus doucement que les mâles et avec des notes bien moins complexes:

Females do sing too but much more lightly than males and the song is not as complex:

Cette fauvette, typique des régions méditerranéennes, part hiverner au Sahel et dans les oasis du Sahara. Chez nous, on la trouve dans les garrigues et milieux ouverts. Son œil entouré de rouge permet de la distinguer de sa cousine à tête noire.

This warbler, typical of the Mediterranean regions, winters in Sahel and in the Sahara oases. In France, it can be found in scrublands and open areas. Its red eye distinguishes it from its black-capped cousin.

 Je commençais à désespérer de ne pas pouvoir photographier l'espèce cet hiver et je le disais à Richard dans un commentaire de son excellent article publié il y a quelques jours! Alors imagine combien j'ai pensé à toi quand j'ai fait ces clichés mon ami :) Tu m'as porté chance!!
Bon, je l'ai poussée quelque peu avec les baies noires que j'ai trouvées près d'un village et rapportées à la mangeoire avec le faible espoir que ça fonctionnerait... Eh bien ça a marché!! Pendant un dixième de seconde, j'ai cru que c'était une Mésange nonnette mais la taille et les teintes plus ternes m'ont alertée très vite et une petite étincelle d'adrénaline m'a fait réagir immédiatement; mais ce mâle sautant partout n'était pas facile à suivre!

I was beginning to despair with the species this winter and said so to Richard in the excellent post he published a few days ago! So imagine how much I thought of you when I caught these images, my friend :) You must have brought me luck!!
OK, I pushed it somewhat with the black berries I found in a village and brought back to the feeder with the fade hope it would work... well IT DID!! For a tenth of a second, I thought it was a Marsh tit, but the size and duller colours got my attention very fast and a little adrenaline made me react at once but this bird jumping everywhere was not easy to follow!
