Oecanthus pellucens

Les Oecanthinae sont une sous-famille d'Orthoptera de la famille des Gryllidae.

Dans mon fatras de photos, j'ai enfin pu localiser les 2 photos de ce grillon intéressant, vu le 13 Août 2010! J'avais fait un article le 13 Octobre 2010.
Très peu de lumière ce jour-là...

Grillon transparent ou Oecanthe transparent
Un grillon à l'allure de sauterelle, identifié par Lucie! Son chant porte très loin, surtout s'il est émis en groupe. Il peut être entendu du coucher du soleil jusque tard dans la nuit, même par temps de pluie. Il se place sous une feuille, y fait un trou et "chante" en plaçant ses élytres au-dessus. Ils ont un corps allongé, de longues antennes, des patte comme celles des sauterelles et sont essentiellement nocturnes.

A tree cricket
that looks like a grasshopper and has the remarkable habit of singing from the underside of a leaf. It chews a hole just the right size for its forewings, and then "sings" by placing the forewings over the hole. They have somewhat flattened bodies and long antennae. They tend to be nocturnal and are often confused with grasshoppers because they have a similar body structure including jumping hind legs.
