Spinus spinus
Passeriformes - Fringillidae

Eurasian siskin

This winter season
, I was able to observe a group of about 70 of these birds; demonstrative and quarrelsome, they delighted me with very lively attitudes!

L'élégante Oie à tête barrée

Anser indicus
 Anseriformes - Anatidae

A couple of Bar-headed goose
can seen at the "Domaine des Oiseaux" in Mazères, Ariège, France.

That day I saw 3 species of anatidae at first but out of lens reach, including the Greylag and the Barnacle
Geese, and I had hoped that the birds would come closer so that I could take a photo of all 3 together but unfortunately it didn't happen. On the other hand this beautiful goose approached at the perfect distance from my Nikon 500 mm.

As it bathed, I was happy to get these nice shots:

The wingspan reaches 1,50 m!
The ratio between the wing surface and its weight is slightly superior to that of other geese,  helping it to fly at an altitude of 10 km. Essentially native to high areas of Mongolia and China, this migratory species winters in northern India and nearby regions. Through a population introduced in Sweden, it has begun to establish in large European dams.

L'Ibis falcinelle

Plegadis falcinellus
Pelecaniformes - Threskiornithidae

The Glossy ibis is the most widespread ibis species, a migratory and nomadic bird breeding in scattered sites in warm regions of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and the Atlantic and Caribbean regions of the Americas.

Alors que je photographiais cet épervier...

 Accipiter nisus
Accipitriformes - Accipitridae

European sparrowhawk
There were few birds at the feeder that day and it didn't dawn on me that a siskin had stay on despite the untimely arrival of this beautiful predator.

My focus was set at the perch level...

... as it took off and it all happened at lightning speed, there was no time for the autofocus to ajust on the birds; I thought that the sparrowhawk had just flown away but as I viewed the pics on the computer screen, I was stunned to discover the following one that speaks for itself. For a better reading I seriously post-treated it in Photoshop. So it is just a testimony pic, not a good one.
The position of the 2 birds shows clearly that the bird of prey has perfectly anticipated the direction and speed of its prey:
