Great to be back in the altitude peatbogs of the pyreneans mountains to find the specific dragon species. I have already presented the site a few time before but just as a reminder, here is the main one:

First a few flowers and those beautiful but unpleasant deer flies:

Campanule agglomérée - Clustered bellflower

Campanula glomerata

Chrysops flavipes

Under the leaf one of the Deer flies present in summer in these mountains pastures.
They are subservient to cattle, horses, stags and Roe deers so they go for anything that emits body heat :(

Eriophorum angustifolium
Inflorescence de Linaigrette à feuilles étroites

Common cottonsedge flower:

Drosera rotundifolia
Drosera à feuilles rondes - Round-leaved sundew

Gentiana lutea
Gentiane jaune - Great yellow gentian

Scabiosa colombaria
Scabieuse des Pyrénées

Scabieuse montée en graines:

 Aeshna juncea
 Odonata - Aeshnidae

Common hawker or Moorland hawker
Here is one of the odonata species we come looking for each year. This time we were very lucky to arrive as many larvae were emerging in the reeds during the morning. Most of the time all goes well but failures happen once in a while.

  6. Hi Noushka,
This is the first time that I see pictures of yours presenting flowers. Also with this kind of photography you show us great pics. This year I have missed the emerging of dragonflies. You were there at the right time enabling you to make a lot of beautiful pictures.
    Greetings, Kees

  10. Fabulous series of photos and labels. As for freedom of Panarama I am told and I quote "The only restriction will be on making money from the pics. Post them where ever you like for free, and there will be no issue." Have a good day Diane x

  14. I've made all my comments about your work many times before Noushka, so must avoid repeating myself over and over again, but these images of beauty and colour just get better. The Pyrenees peat-bog must be in the most beautiful of scenery anywhere to be seen.

    My Kind Regards. Pete.

  22. Hi Noushka, I see that you are following my blog. Thank you.
I'm now looking at yours and oo-ing and ah-ing over your beautiful macro photos. Most of the flowers were totally unknown to me except the gentian. I used to live in Abruzzo (Italy) in the mountains. Gentian grew there, but not the yellow.
Thank you so much for showing all this beauty. Do you think any of these flowers will grow in the Sierra Nevada mountains? Or are they typical for a boggy environment?
I will look at your beautiful photos a few times more to let it all sink in.... Thanks
    Lisca
