On peut en voir une ou deux au Domaine des Oiseaux à Mazères en Ariège.
Ce jour-là j'y ai vu 3 espèces d'anatidae au loin, avec l'Oie cendrée et l'Oie du Canada, et j'avais espéré que les oiseaux se rapprocheraient pour que je puisse faire une photo avec les 3 ensemble mais hélas ce ne fut pas le cas. Par contre cette belle oie s'est approchée à la parfaite distance de mon télé 500 mm f/4.

That day I saw 3 species of anatidae at first but out of lens reach, including the Greylag and the Barnacle Geese, and I had hoped that the birds would come closer so that I could take a photo of all 3 together but unfortunately it didn't happen. On the other hand this beautiful goose approached at the perfect distance from my Nikon 500 mm.

Son envergure atteint 1,50 m!
Le rapport de sa surface alaire à son poids est légèrement supérieur à celui des autres oies, ce qui l'aide à voler jusqu'à 10 km d'altitude. Essentiellement originaire des régions élévées de Mongolie et de Chine, cette espèce migratrice passe l'hiver dans le nord de l'Inde et les régions voisines. Par une population introduite en Suède, cet oiseau commence à s'établir dans certains plans d'eau européens.

The wingspan reaches 1,50 m!
The ratio between the wing surface and its weight is slightly superior to that of other geese, helping it to fly at an altitude of 10 km. Essentially native to high areas of Mongolia and China, this migratory species winters in northern India and nearby regions. Through a population introduced in Sweden, it has begun to establish in large European dams.
