Ibis à cou noir ou Ibis blanc d'Australie

Threskiornis moluccus
 Ciconiiformes - Threskiornithidae

Avril 2015

Australian white ibis,
a wading bird widespread across much of eastern, northern and south-western Australia. Its sister species is the sacred ibis. It occurs in marshy wetlands, often near open grasslands and has become common in Australian east-coast city parks. The most favoured foods are crayfish and mussels, which the bird obtains by digging with its long bill.

  3. Wonderful pics.
When I travel to Florida (winter), I love to watch the ibis dart in and out of the waves,
digging for food. Their orange legs and beak contrast beautifully against their white plumage.
    Have a great weekend.

  4. Hello oiselle

  12. The markings on the head look like painted markings. And the beak is so long.
