Ces oiseaux ravissants et très présents dans les jardins des lodges et les jardins botaniques sont un merveilleux plaisir à photographier et pour peu qu'on ait un peu de temps, ils se posent sur ou virevoltent autour des belles fleurs colorées:
Sunbirds of Uganda

These
beautiful birds are very present in the botanical gardens or lodge
garden and are quite pleasure to photograph. If one has time and
patience, they will inevitably flutter around colourful flowers:
Souimanga bronzé - Bronze sunbird
Nectarinia kilimensis

Femelles:
Mâles:
Souimanga à ceinture rouge - Red-chested sunbird
Cinnyris erythrocercus
Males:
Souimanga à poitrine rouge - Scarlet-chested sunbird
Chalcomitra senegalensis
Souimanga à tête verte - Green-headed sunbird
Cyanomitra verticalis
Wonderful set of photos. I saw them in Durban on our last visit, and our friends had a female sitting on eggs while we were there. Apparently all hatched and flew the nest. Keep well, hugs Diane

Shots 10, 11 and 14 are my favorites. You've taken these so very well.

Hi Noushka,
RépondreSupprimerI have spent many happy hours watching Sunbirds whilst in Africa as they dart around the flowers, unfortunately this was prior to my interest in photography.
I can imagine with how they move about, they are not easy to get decent images from so very well done.
Super set of images.
All the best, John
Hi Carine,
RépondreSupprimerIt is always a pleasure to observe sunbirds. Although it isn't always easy to photograph them it is certainly worth trying. You managed to "shoot" a beautiful series.
Greetings, Kees
Magnifiques tous ces souimangas ,éclatants de couleurs !
RépondreSupprimerHi Noushka.
RépondreSupprimerBeautiful pictures of these beautiful colored birds.
Greeting from Patricia.
Bonsoir Noushka,
RépondreSupprimerIls sont superbes et très bien mis en valeur par le décor dans lequel ils se promènent!
Les mâles remportent la palme, bien sûr!
Belle semaine à toi!
Hello Carine, such amazing little birds with stunning colours. I was able to take captures of a sunbird in Israel two years ago. Male, female and juvenils.
RépondreSupprimerRegards, Roos
Dearest Noushka,
RépondreSupprimerNever have seen any Sunbirds and you present here such a magnificent scala of the entire species.
Love all of their cousins, some are more exotic but no one looks dull.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

What beautiful birds, Noushla. I have never seen anything like them for real. I'm glad that you were patient and captured these colorful photos for those of us far less patient. Have a good one!
RépondreSupprimerLes environnements fleuris sont aussi beaux que tous ces souimangas. Le tout haut en couleurs.
RépondreSupprimerUn bonheur ces oiseaux.
Bises et bonne journée.
Allways a pleasure to see these colourful sunbirds.
RépondreSupprimerYou managed a wonderful series of images.
Best regards, Corrie
Hi Carine. Just catching up after spending 9 days visiting the Isles of Scilly, so sorry for the late visit to your blog.
RépondreSupprimerYour Sunbird images are fabulous! What a spectacular family of birds. Sadly, I don't suppose that I will ever see one.
